Sat 5 Scott Enduro Cup Moab – Moab is an iconic mountain biking destination that boasts endless desert riding, incredible mountain vistas and technical slickrock terrain. Round 1 of the 2017 SCOTT Enduro Cup is a human powered single-day season kickoff where the strongest, and as history tells, most seasoned riders tend to take home the win. The Moab trails provides variable terrain of slickrock, wooded, sand and dirt sections that feature naturally banked, rock-paved bench cuts and fast technical descents. Sat 12 Back of Beyond Paddle Race – The Back of Beyond Paddle Race takes place in the adventure town of Moab, Utah. On race day head up to the starting line about 29 miles northeast of Moab on Scenic Highway 128 at the historic Dewey Bridge. The Back of Beyond Paddle Race follows the Colorado River through the spectacular red rock canyons of Southeastern Utah and past some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery – through Moab’s ‘Postcard Alley’ and into Utah’s own ‘back of beyond’. Sun-Sat 17-23 Desert RATS Kokopelli 150 – Racers will run from Grand Junction, Colorado to the world famous Moab, Utah along the beautiful 148-mile Kokopelli trail. Distances will range from day to day between 9 and 42 miles. This is a grueling event that will challenge the most seasoned athletes yet it is designed so that less experienced ultrarunners can train for and successfully complete the course. Wed-Sat 26-29 Moab Pride – ?Moab Pride Festival is creating queer visibility while providing accessible LGBTQIA programming and safe spaces for the community. Accessible LGBTQIA programming means creating awareness, dialogue, safe spaces and visibility through art, workshops, and celebrations that are inclusive for all ages. All funds raised beforehand and during will go towards supporting Moab Pride programming, Gay Straight Alliance initiatives in our public schools, as well as LGBTQIA programming during the year in Moab.
